After one too many bad nights, a ring girl decides it's high time to get out from under the thumb of a local gangster, and burn every bridge she can on the way out. Slated for a 2010 release.

Hot on the heels (or, more appropriately, the boot jets) of the debut of the second trailer for director Jon Favreau's sequel to Iron Man, Paramount Pictures and Marvel Studios have released several new pieces of artwork for Iron Man 2. The new artwork includes three new standees that should be making their way into theaters soon, if they haven't already. The standees include solo images of both Iron Man (played by Robert Downey Jr.) and his partner-in-heroics, War Machine (Don Cheadle), as well as a "jam piece" showcasing both characters.

Also, a new, high-quality still image has been released and it's becoming something of a controversy in internet fan forums and chat groups. The image shows Tony Stark in his Mark III Iron Man armor in conversation with another armored person. Many entertainment sites have labeled the character Stark is talking to as War Machine, but the shiny metal, riveted chest plate and blue eye-socket glow clearly indicates that it is the Mark II iron man armor, the first suit of armor that Stark made after gaining his freedom in the first movie.

Iron Man 2Some have suggested that it is an early version of the War Machine armor, while others have suggested that it is actually Justin Hammer (Sam Rockwell) or even Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow) wearing the Mark II armor. Another theory has it that it is actress Olivia Munn portraying the Iron Maiden character she is rumored to be playing. Of course, it could just be an empty suit of armor, but all of the speculation and debate is a clear sign that fans are eager for the release of the movie.

Iron Man 2 also stars Scarlett Johansson as the Black Widow, Mickey Rourke as Whiplash and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.

OP: Blegh, I really can't stand Olivia Mann-face. She annoys me.

Warner Brothers has released a brand new banner for A Nightmare On Elm Street, the remake of the classic horror film where a man named Freddy Krueger would bug chicks while they were sleeping and kill the dudes that were sleeping with said chicks. He was a very jealous individual.

The new banner has a picture of Freddy standing behind some girl who is minding her own business. Freddy, being the perverted /high school/colege student stalker that he is, is about to sneak up on this unsuspecting woman and give her the wedgie of her life. He should be calling 911 because water has obviously damaged the hardwood floors and she fell through and looks stuck. I hope he does the right thing and helps her out.

The BAFTA (the British Academy of Film and Television Arts) Awards happened over the weekend, and Brendon filed his report on the site. To promote the award show, the BAFTA commissioned illustrator Tavis Coburn of Dutch Uncle to create a series of posters, one for each of the five Best Film nominees of the year (Avatar, An Education, The Hurt Locker, Precious, and Up in the Air). I absolutely love the retro 1960’s/1970’s style. Check out all five posters after the jump.

Paramount Pictures has acquired the U.S. distribution rights to George Gallo’s R-Rated crime dramedy Middle Men. The film, which recently made its world premiere at the Santa Barbara Film Festival, stars Luke Wilson, James Caan, Giovanni Ribisi and Gabriel Macht. Middle Men tells the true story of Jack Harris “the straight-laced businessman who helped launch one of the first porn websites” and becomes “caught between the Russian mob, a porn star, the FBI and his family, all while becoming very rich.”

In their film fest review, Variety called it “Boogie Nights’ meets ‘Goodfellas’” and called the film “a sleazy but undeniably intriguing tour of the bottom-feeding netherworld where porn and organized crime do their mutual bump-and-grind.”

Watch extended red band movie trailer:

Official plot synopsis:

Jack Harris has a faithful and loving wife, two beautiful children, and a successful career fixing problem companies. When an associate calls him about an opportunity to help turn around a business that has fallen into trouble, he decides to take the job. Little does he know, it is a decision that will change his life in ways he never expected. Jack meets with Wayne Beering and Buck Dolby, two genius but troubled men who have invented a way to sell adult entertainment over the Internet. The plan was brilliant but the execution wasn’t — they were making money hand-over-fist and losing it just as fast. Seeing the potential, Jack agrees to partner with Buck and Wayne, devising a way to bill the entertainment through a third party, taking the guilt out of the ultimate guilty pleasure. Before he knows it, he finds himself caught between the Russian mob, a 23- year-old porn star, the FBI, and losing his family in the process of becoming rich. Witness a story so outrageous, you won’t believe it’s true. A story that proves business is a lot like sex…getting in is easy, pulling out is hard.

Middle Man will hit theaters in 2010.

Brand new characters banner posters for Matthew Vaughn’s Kick-Ass which is based on the groundbreaking, best-selling comic by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr. have been revealed. Vaughn (Stardust, Layer Cake) who directed the movie from the script that he wrote with Jane Goldman stars Nicolas Cage, Aaron Johnson, Lyndsy Fonseca, Mark Strong, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Chloe Moretz.

Kick-Ass tells the story of average teenager Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson), a comic-book fanboy who decides to take his obsession as inspiration to become a real-life superhero. As any good superhero would, he chooses a new name – Kick-Ass – assembles a suit and mask to wear, and gets to work fighting crime. There’s only one problem standing in his way: Kick-Ass has absolutely no superpowers. His life is forever changed as he inspires a subculture of copy cats, is hunted by assorted violent and unpleasant characters, and meets up with a pair of crazed vigilantes, including an 11-year-old sword-wielding dynamo, Hit Girl (Chloë Moretz) and her father, Big Daddy (Nicolas Cage).
