Ryan Phillippe is the latest actor in the running for the lead role in the upcoming Captain America movie. Producers have been courting the Crash star for the superhero blockbuster after frontrunner, John Krasinski of The Office, dropped out contention for the role early last week.

The last time someone tried to make a Captain America movie, the world was gifted with a 1990 straight-to-video stinker, so Marvel is taking its time selecting the perfect hero. To the producers’ credit, Marvel and director Joe Johnston have tapped Hugo Weaving to play villain Red Skull.

The First Avenger: Captain America will open in theaters July 22, 2011.

Her management denies involvement, but some eagle-eyed fans beg to differ.

Back in January, amid much speculationto the contrary, a rep for Christina Aguilera denied that her client had anything to do with the ongoing "Iamamiwhoami" viral campaign, telling MTV News: "It's 100 percent not her ... not sure why people think it is."

And yet, despite that denial (and a second one issued just last week), Aguilera's name kept being mentioned in connection with the maddeningly complex campaign, even as mysterious packages were sent to MTV News and more and more Iamami videos were released.

But on Sunday, with the debut of the seventh Iamami clip, all that speculation may finally be over. We might finally know the person responsible for the engrossing (and pretty gross) viral campaign: Jonna Lee, a singer/songwriter from Sweden.

In a lengthy post on celebrity-obsessed LiveJournal community Oh No They Didn't, a pair of keen-eyed readers noticed the similarities between Lee and the muck-smeared heroine of the Iamami video series — the nose, the teeth, the eyes — similarities no amount of masking tape (which our heroine covered herself in for the latest vid) could hide. Also strangely similar is an electric organ seen in the new video, which also makes an appearance in a "making of" clip for Lee's latest album, and Lee's backing musicians, who look very much like the guys featured in the newest Iamami video.

And given all those similarities, it seemed like the mystery was finally solved. Only, perhaps it isn't. Because Lee's music only bears a passing resemblance to the ethereal, downright eerie electronic stuff being unveiled in the viral videos (her latest single, "Something So Quiet," is perhaps the closest match). And, according to her management, she has nothing to do with Iamami.

"If Jonna is involved in this, we have no knowledge of such," Jamie Jaffe, who works for Lee's North American management team, Philadelphonic, told MTV News in an e-mail Monday (March 15). "The only upcoming projects we are aware of are the development of her third album and her upcoming SXSW performances."


Then again, from the sound of things, Lee is working on a new album, and MTV News' e-mails to her Swedish label, Razzia, seeking comment were not returned. So there's still nothing official to report. But for the first time since the Iamami campaign began in December, we might actually be getting close to figuring this whole thing out.

With a Swarovski-encrusted veil of secrecy perfectly draped and belted over "Sex and the City 2," fans have more questions than Charlotte on a first date. Thankfully, your PopWrap pals cornered Michael Patrick King, AKA the man with all the answers at Saturday's GLAAD Media Awards.

Thankfully the writer/director of both the first and second films revealed the reasons behind some of the sequel's most controversial plot points!

PopWrap: How do you describe the film?
Michael Patrick King: It's a far away journey with a big heart. At the same time, it's a big party. I figured in this economy and this climate, everyone wanted to have fun. It has an old-fashioned sense to it, almost like an MGM musical, but also has the feel of a road picture. I think fans will be surprised of the journey these characters go one. What the ladies experience after their happily ever after.

PW: Anyone with a DSL line knows part of the film takes place in the '80s, how did that idea come about?
MPK: One of the themes of this film is time -- past, present, future. Who you were, who you are, who you will be. So I thought, well, it's about evolution and I'm always trying to find something new, something the show hasn't done before. I never want to repeat myself and we never showed the moment of how the girls met, so I thought, let's try that.

PW: One of the most talked about plot points is the wedding of Stanford and Anthony. Why was it important to have a gay wedding in the film?
MPK: For me, "Sex and the City" has always been about being current. Whatever's happening in culture, or in NYC, we always try to funnel into the series. And what's happening now is the topic of gay marriage. And as people get older, they get married. There are two gay characters in the movie and it comes back to the topic of evolution again, what happens to these characters?

PW: A lot of fans feel that you're just putting Stanford and Anthony together to put them together -- that their wedding isn't earned. What do you think about that?
MPK: [laughs[ I say that people don't know a lot of different couples then! My personal belief is that the tragic falling apart of Carrie's wedding to Big brought them together. That moment of crisis united them. It's fun, I mean, opposites attract!

PW: And you have Liza Minnelli performing at the ceremony -- what does it mean to have her involved with the brand?
MPK: You know, when you're lucky enough to be working on something that's popular, you get a wish list every now and then. You can type names out and sometimes they magically appear. And this time, she magically appeared.

Corey Feldman will not be attending longtime friend Corey Haim's funeral in Toronto on Tuesday. He claims that he wants the event to be a small family gathering out of respect for this friend.

He said:

"In the days following my best friend Corey Haim's death, I have spent much time with his mother Judy, who has always been like a mother to me. I would love nothing more than to be by her side at Corey's funeral, however, due to their strong religious beliefs and need for privacy, the family has decided to make Corey's funeral on Tuesday a small private affair."

The service is being paid for by Startifacts, a celebrity memorabilia site that is "donating" $20,000 to cover costs such as transportation of the casket and purchasing a headstone. The funds are available because they are auctioning off his belongings on the site!

And his family okayed that?! The Haims are also asking those who wish to send flowers to the funeral donate to their local cancer ward.

Although Corey Feldman isn't completely out of the loop. He's got something of his own coming up!

"I am working with a few people who were close to Corey to put a memorial together within the next month," said the former child star. "At that time, the media will be invited to honor and celebrate the legacy he has left behind, along with friends, fans and the rest of the Hollywood community."

Of course they are!

Last week Lamar and I went on Lopez Tonight and Lenny Kravitz was there and he asked for a picture with us! I wanted one with him but I was too shy to ask. So thank goodness he asked first! LOL I can't believe he even knew who I was. He told me he watches every episode of our show! Who would have ever thought that someone like Lenny Kravitz would be a fan?! I'm not sure if he was serious or not but I guess I have the picture to prove it! Hahaha.

I love his music and his performance in Precious was phenomenal -- he's SO talented and so sweet and down to earth. It was really awesome to have the opportunity to meet him.

After canceling a private show in Brazil at the last minute, Guns N' Roses had a big riot problem on their hands!

The band was due to play in front of an exclusive crowd, which included supermodel Ana Beatriz Barros at the Sao Paulo club, but when it was announced that the concert had been canceled, the crowd went crazy.

"The audience got angry and started to mount the stage, and fight and destroy everything. It was wild. There were fights everywhere, on the dance floor, in the bathrooms, outside the club. Crazy. I guess the free drinks didn't help," claims a source.

Wonder if they'll have the balls to reschedule.

So you can sleep with multiple women, but the minute another man pays attention to your wife it's the end of the world, you DICK?

Sources are claiming that the lying douchebag is PISSED that Will.I.Am has admitted that he is attracted to Cole's soon-to-be ex-wife, Cheryl Cole Tweedy!!

Cheryl and will.i.am worked together on her album, 3 Words, and Ashley has been threatened by him ever since!!

A source says:

"Will.I.Am's comments about his wife are not news or a surprise to Ashley. He and Cheryl rowed about it last year. She's done absolutely nothing wrong but Ashley's sick of this man openly making advances toward his missus."

While we don't think it's appropriate to make those kinds of comments about a married woman, we'll make an exception in this case.

Ashley, after all the shiz you've pulled, you have no business making comments about anything regarding Cheryl!!

Fergie wraps her leg around her husband, Transformers hunk Josh Duhamel, at Enclave nightclub on Saturday (March 13) in Chicago, Ill.

After the Black Eyed Peas performed a concert at The United Center, the couple joined will.i.am and Appl.de.Ap at the Bacardi VIP Room.

Everybody celebrated Will’s birthday a little early — they had a huge balloon and cake for him at the table and Fergie had the crowd wish him a Happy Birthday!

Spencer Pratt is finally biting his tongue. On Monday, the reality villain Hills fans love to loathe announced that he is leaving the long-running MTV docusoap to become a cyber sheriff.

…No, we’re not joking….So reset your passwords, PopCrunchers: Heidi Montag’s manbag is making it his duty to patrol the Interwebs for us.

Pratt, 26, is currently studying software engineering with a focus on encryption at the University of Southern California. To devote his full focus to school, Spencer will abandon his role on The Hills and work toward becoming a cyber security officer with the American Defense Enterprises.

Think that’s ridiculous? Allow Spencer to explain…..

“In the last few months I have discovered a new passion and new purpose to my life,” Pratt told PEOPLE.com on Monday. “With this in mind, I have decided to take a break from my obligations to MTV’s ‘The Hills’ and discontinue filming any more episodes for this current season. Upon learning of President Obama’s declaration that the ‘cyber threat is one of the most serious economic and national security challenges we face as a nation,’ I have decided to refocus my energy and devote my full resources to helping America face this and other unprecedented challenges,” he said.

“I am saddened to take this break from filming,” he continued. “At this time, however I feel I would not be honoring my country or myself if I were to continue this endeavor when I have the opportunity and the ability to assist our nation…..”

Don’t worry, Mrs. Pratt plans to remain on The Hills for the time being. She’ll certainly stir up enough drama for the both of them.

Seeing as everyone on the planet is going to guest-star on Glee, it's no surprise he'd get his sticky little paws in the mix, too!!

Justin Timberlake is the latest to be included on the laundry list of celebrity appearances on the smash FOX series!

Series creator Ryan Murphy said:

"[Justin] is the one the kids jump up and down about every day and beg me to meet with him. I'm a huge fan of his music. I think he's so talented. And he's a true triple threat: He can sing, dance, and act. So yeah, we'd love to have him on. We start shooting the second season in July and I think I will work some magic around that time for him if I can."

And for some bizarre reason, the cast wants him around too!

Mr. Schu says:

"I don't think he could handle this. But if he wants to go toe to toe with Mr. Schuester, bring it on, J.T.! He's amazing; I have so much respect for that guy. What a talent. I would love for him to be on the show."

And the FIERCE Amber Riley, who plays Mercedes, says:

"I think J.T. has been trying to put a little buzz in people's ears, too. I hear you on these interviews that you want to be on Glee. I'm pushing for you 100 percent."

Eh.

He's usually pretty funny on Saturday Night Live, so he might be able to handle Glee, as opposed to his pathetic acting attempts in all of his SHITEOUS movies.

We are, HOWEVER, excited about some major SPOILERS regarding Neil Patrick Harris' much-anticipated appearance, involving our FAVORITE character, Sue Sylvester!!

Ryan Murphy says:

"[Neil] gets to tussle with Jane Lynch, and they might sleep together, but that's all I'm gonna say!"

OMFG. Brilliant. We can't wait!!
