Although Paula’s role on the show is still being worked out, Ausiello spies believe she would serve as both a host and a judge.

I’ve made no bones before about my lack of awe for Lady Gaga. It’s not that I have anything against her specifically, but I find the aggrandizement of her as a radically different feminist artist as shallow: she’s able-bodied, cis, blonde, thin, and conventionally attractive (I find the argument that she’s somehow shattering beauty norms really hard to swallow), and generally taking part in the privilege of attraction as western culture grants it.

As a trans woman, she mostly caught my attention due to the transphobic and intersex-phobic rumours about her being either trans or intersex. While these rumours were typically a product of living in a transphobic and transmisogynist culture, Lady Gaga’s response was one of gender and genital essentialism, stating that her vagina was offended by the claims.

It seems with her latest video she’s continuing this gender essentialism, slipping in a “no dick = not a tranny” joke at about a minute in, before the song even begins to play. The scene is set in a prison, and after being dragged to her cell and stripped by two women who appear to be trans Lady Gaga climbs up against the bars in a shot clearly designed to dispel any rumours. At that point one of the trans women guards says to the other “I told you she didn’t have a dick,” and they walk away.

When the original rumours about Lady Gaga’s genitals were circulating I stayed away from the story for the most part out of respect for her. Her offended vagina comment quickly lost my support, however. That she’s using trans women and drag queens to exoticize her videos doesn’t defer from the cissupremacist stance that women = vagina, and trans women are therefore not real women. Her anxiety at being seen as trans is clear, and her response is typical of cis privilege and trans marginalization: We’re supposed to wipe our brows and sigh relief that she’s actually a real woman. This is transmisogyny.

Moviemaker James Cameron has confirmed he will bring Titanic back to the big screen in 3D.

The director recently joked about updating the 1997 blockbuster using the same technology, which brought his Oscar-winning epic Avatar to life.

And now he has confirmed he is serious about plans to re-release the historical film in 3D - but the new version won't hit cinemas until 2012, to mark 100 years since the legendary ship sank.

He tells USA Today. "We're targeting spring of 2012 for the release (of a 3D version of Titanic), which is the 100 year anniversary of the sailing of the ship."

Cameron also revealed he will be putting Avatar back into movie theatres by releasing a director's cut later this year.

He adds, "The wildcard is that we might be re-releasing the movie this fall. It's kind of gotten stomped out (in theatres since the release) of Alice in Wonderland. The word we're getting back from exhibitors is we probably left a couple of hundred million dollars on the table as a result. The question is the appetite still going to be there after the summer glut of movies. We're going to assess that. We're talking about maybe adding in additional footage and doing something creative."

Avatar made movie history this year by overtaking Titanic as the best-selling international movie release of all time.

A new twist is in emerging in the case of Aswad Ayinde, the New Jersey man accused of raping five of his daughters and impregnating three of them with his children.

Police have confirmed that Ayinde is actually a critically acclaimed video director who snagged an MTV award in 2002 for his direction of the Fugees' “Killing Me Softly.”





The madman will stand trial five times, once for each daughter police he say raped, beat and impregnated at least six times.

According to the Associated Press, the ex-wife of the 51-year-old man appeared in court and testified against him in a pre-trial saying that he wanted to create "pure" family bloodlines by impregnating several of his teenage daughters.

She testified against him saying,

"He said the world was going to end and it was just going to be him and his offspring and that he was chosen."

Prosecutors say the man beat the girls, who were isolated from the outside world and home schooled, with wooden boards and steel-toed boots.

The three daughters he impregnated gave birth to a total of six children.

The AP also reports that the mother testified in court that some of the babies were delivered at home and never received birth certificates. She also said there were at least two instances where the babies who died in the home were buried without authorities being notified.

When asked why she didn't try to stop him, the wife said,

“I was afraid to ever accuse him of being demented, or being a pedophile. I knew the word but I wouldn't dare use it because it would result in a beating.”

Ayinde faces charges of aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault, lewdness, child endangerment, aggravated criminal sexual contact and criminal sexual contact.

He was originally arrested in 2006 for the crimes.

The first trial for the man is scheduled to begin in April.

Simon Cowell reportedly wants Cheryl Cole to be a judge on the US version of The X Factor saying:

"I'd love to have Cheryl on the show. We have great chemistry. Cheryl's a natural star. People can't help but warm to her."

And apparently she's accepting the offer! An insider reveals:

"Simon thinks America will fall in love with Cheryl, just like Britain has. She has a unique talent for winning everybody over. Jordan aka Katie Price and Alex Reid will marry for a second time this coming summer after finding out their first marriage in Vegas may not be legal since the official wasn't licensed to marry couples!

Turns out Lady GaGa's 17-year-old sister Natali Germanotta makes a cameo appearance in the epic that is the "Telephone" video.

Designer Brian Lichtenberg reveals, "When she [Gaga] is on the phone in jail, there's a girl behind her that's in the frame that looks a lot like Gaga. That's her sister."
