She must be doing something right!
Former The Hills star Lauren Conrad has released her second book, Sweet Little Lies and for the second time in her writing career, her work has topped the New York Times bestseller list.
Quite an accomplishment!
When asked about the recognition, Lauren gushed:
"It's so gratifying for my second book to be so successful and it was so fun to write! The characters were already developed so I really enjoyed the process so much more this time around. All the characters have become like my friends now."
We think you mean all your friends have become characters which has made you rich!
Call'em like we see them!
But congrats all the same! Maybe you next book should be a horror story called Tales of the Franken-Heidi!

Lauren Conrad is a New York Times Bestselling Author a second time over. This week, the second novel from the former reality starlet and fashionista, Sweet Little Lies, hit No. 1 on the publication’s coveted list of the nation’s most sought after reads.
Sweet Little Lies — released earlier this month — is the follow-up to L.C.’s semi-autobiographical 2009 novel, L.A. Candy.
“It’s so gratifying for my second book to be so successful and it was so fun to write! The characters were already developed, so I really enjoyed the process so much more this time around,” The Hillscastaway told PEOPLE Magazine on Friday. “All the characters have become like my friends now.”

Hills alum Lauren Conrad shows off her pearly whites on Seventeen magazine’s March 2010 cover!
Here’s what the 24-year-old reality-star-turned-writer dished to Seventeen:
On whether she thought The Hills would launch her career: “When the show started to be successful, I realized it could be a platform for getting into fashion. But in the beginning, I was 17 and I just wanted to be on TV. I wish I could give myself more credit and say I had a whole business plan, but really I just thought MTV was cool and that it would be fun.”
On the rumor that her BF, Kyle Howard, didn’t want to be on The Hills: “False. It never even came up, because by the time I met Kyle, I had already perfected my ‘double life.’ There was my TV life and my real life. Most of my closest friends were never on the show; my family was rarely on. I think it’s better that way. It’s not normal to put every part of your personal life on camera. You have to have something for yourself or you’ll go crazy.”

Lauren Conrad signs copies of her new book Sweet Little Lies at Borders bookstore on Wednesday (February 3) in Tribeca, New York City.
The 24-year-old reality TV star made Good Morning America her first stop on her promotional tour. When asked about Heidi Montag’s recent plastic surgery, she said, “It’s a look. I think it’s a personal choice,” she said.
“Everybody’s different..Everybody needs to do what’s good for them,” Lauren continued. When asked if she had considered plastic surgery herself, she said, “Not so far, no.”

Lauren Conrad loves Jersey Shore.
According to OK! Magazine, the former reality star — who departed The Hills last year after five seasons — has become a regular viewer of The Hills newest competitor.
 
LC has all but abandoned the show that made her a star in favor of The Shore — a controversial beach-themed smash, which features a group of Italian-American twentysomethings spending the summer in the Garden State resort community of Seaside Heights.
“I haven’t seen [The Hills] since I left,” Lauren told OK! last week. “But I watch Jersey Shore so I am still supporting MTV,” she added. “Last night was the highlight, it was a double episode. There was two! There’s this one part where Ronnie hits a guy and they don’t really get the hit… Ronnie knocks him out.”
Her favorite Jersey Shore star is JWoWW. “She can throw a punch!” Lauren laughed.
The Hills’ Kristin Cavallari, who replaced Lauren when she departed the show, also recently admitted that she is a Jersey Shore fan.

This year, Lauren Conrad made great strides toward breaking free of her identity as a reality TV personality. She released her first book L.A. Candy, a #1 New York Times Bestseller, her follow-up novel, Sweet Little Lies, goes on sale this February, and now the budding novelist is tapping into her literary prowess and keen fashion sense to write the book on style.
LC will unveil her top tips on style in Lauren Conrad Style, to be published by HarperCollins in the Fall of 2010. The book will feature new and never-before-seen photos of the former Hills star as well as show readers how to interpret the young fashion icon’s signature look into their own lives.
“I am really excited to write a style guide,” says Lauren, who previously helmed the Lauren Conrad Collection and currently hawks an affordable clothing line for Kohl’s. “I think fashion should be fun and reflective of who you are.
