Beyonce comes out to support her husband Jay-Z at the ceremonial groundbreaking for Barclays Center — the new arena for the New Jersey Nets — at Atlantic Yards on Thursday (March 11) in New York City’s Brooklyn.
“What I stand here and represent is hope for Brooklyn, New York City. I’m a son of Brooklyn, I’m from Marcy projects.” Jay said. “I think about growing up in Brooklyn in the Marcy projects and shooting jump shots, thinking I can make it to the NBA. Now I stand here as an owner of [the Nets] that’s coming back to Brooklyn. The pride in that, and bringing that dream so much closer for people, brings me so much pride I get a little nervous about it. But I’m very happy, very excited about this day. And we did it again Brooklyn — shout out to [Notorious] B.I.G.”

Jay-Z took advantage of his time in the Beltway on Wednesday to visit 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. "I just came from the White House," he told the audience at the Verizon Center on the Washington, D.C., stop of his Blueprint 3 tour. According to The Washington Post, Hov made the remark during the last minutes of his concert.
Officials confirmed to the Post on Thursday (March 4) that President Barack Obama had indeed met with the Brooklyn MC and the pair chatted briefly. In an interview overseas last month, Jay-Z revealed that when he once called President Obama, he heard BP3 playing in the background.
He also told British talk-show host Jonathan Ross he had been invited to the White House by the Obama administration "a couple of times," but at the time, the witty lyricist hadn't had a chance to take the president up on the offer. "Hopefully we'll keep him in for eight years, so I'll have time to get there," Jay joked.
The Roc Nation boss was an avid supporter of Obama during the presidential campaign. He also referred to him in a series of lyrics, most notably for Young Jeezy's hit "My President," to which Jay-Z contributed a verse on the remix that premiered during a party that coincided with the president's inauguration.
"Rosa Parks sat so Martin Luther could walk/ Martin Luther walked so Barack Obama could run/ Barack Obama ran so all the children could fly," he raps on the track. "So I'mma spread my wings/ You could meet me in the sky."
"It's just the progression. ... You sat, you walked, you ran, you ran to fly," he said about his Obama rhyme last year on the eve of the inauguration. "You know, just the progression and how far we've come as a nation. It feels good to say that, 'cause I never had that type of feeling to say 'as a nation,' like I was part of the American dream. And I believe a lot of people didn't feel like a part of the American process for so long."

You go, Rihanna!
The singer's new single, Rude Boy, is her 14th track to be make its way on the Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 singles, relieving Beyowulf of the 'most top 10s in the 2000s by a female artist' title!!!
That is NUTS. 14 top 10 singles??
She is now even with Ludacris, and only second to Beyowulf's boo, Jay-Z, who has 15 top 10s.
We are thrilled for her, but you know the minute Sasha Fierce (RIP) is resurrected, girlfriend is taking that title right back!!
Enjoy it for now, RiRi!!

With another week of freedom to enjoy, Lil' Wayne is making the most of it.
He showed up at Jay-Z's show at Madison Square Garden last night before heading over to the Empire Hotel for the premiere party of the flick Brooklyn's Finest.
But that didn't go so well.
Sources say that he showed up to the party with a posse of six other guys at around 1:30 a.m. Security wouldn't let him and so he threw a tantrum. It wasn't until one of the movie's publicists intervened that the whole matter got settled.
Lil' Wayne isn't used to not getting his way anymore, since the Universe has been on his side as of late!
Is anyone else taking bets on what freak accident will keep him from going to jail on Monday?!
