Lollapalooza 2010 Headliners: The Strokes, Arcade Fire, Lady Gaga, Green Day, Soundgarden, and...

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

A trustworthy industry source just gave us a scoop that the complete list of Lollapalooza headliners will include the following: Strokes, Arcade Fire, Lady Gaga, Green Day, Soundgarden… and Phoenix.

Aside from Phoenix, all acts had been previously named by Greg Kot on his blog back in February. The French band would take a major leap to the big leagues if this shakes out. Having seem Thomas Mars and co. thrill a packed Aragon, I can see it happening, despite the knee-jerk take that it is not popular enough. Phoenix packed the venue with as many fans as the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, for what that’s worth. Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix has been hanging at the top of iTunes charts for about a year. So, the Lolla pole position could very well be true.

Lolla typically officially anounced headliners around this time of year, the first full week of March, so stay tuned.

This would be AMAZING!

It's being reported by industry sources that Lady GaGa may be headlining Chicago's 3 day music festival Lollapalooza alongside Green Day and Sound Garden.

However, this wouldn't be her first time performing at the music fest. Gagaloo rocked the palooza before her Fame Monster days back in when she was still a brunette in 2007.

We say DO IT!

Green Day on Broadway. Kinda has a nice ring to it.

The Grammy-winning punk rockers are bringing their rock musical, American Idiot, to the New York stage.

A stage adaptation of the group’s critically-acclaimed album of the same name will open at Manhattan’s St. James Theatre April 20, producers Tom Hulce and Ira Pittelman said Tuesday. The duo were also linked to the Broadway rock musical Spring Awakening.

A tale of disaffected suburban youth, the musical features lyrics by Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong and a book by Armstrong and Michael Mayer, who also directed the show. American Idiot had a sold-out run at Berkeley Repertory Theatre in Berkeley, California last fall.

Casting for the Broadway show have not been announced. Preview performances begin March 24.

You know you've made it big when you're placed in the same category as the Beatles.

Green Day has been featured in the latest Rock Band video game, but fans will have something new to obsess over.

Next year, the band is getting its own video game, Green Day: Rock Band!

During Saturday's 2009 Spike Video Game Awards, game-maker Harmonix announced the exciting news for all Green Day fans.

Billie Joe Armstrong added the band's approval in a recent statement, saying:

"We've worked with the 'Rock Band' team in the past year to enable our fans to play tracks from 21st Century Breakdown, and we're excited to now be working on a game spanning our entire career. We want people to fire this up, choose their favorite Green Day tracks and play along with us as 'Rock Band' avatars so they can feel what it's like to perform on stage as Green Day."

Nice!

Warner Bros. Records CEO, Tom Whalley, added that "This game will appeal to fans of all ages, including those who love their recent bestselling albums and those who've loved Green Day throughout their long, incredible career."

The video game will allow users to play Green Day's songs, view their artwork, and perform at some of their favorite venues.

Will you be buying this next year?

Music game developer Harmonix says they are collaborating with rock group Green Day on a standalone Rock Band title featuring the band's work.

The game, Green Day: Rock Band, will be available on the Nintendo Wii, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

"This game will feel like a natural extension of Green Day and their music that will deepen the fans' connection to the band and their history," said Alex Rigopulos, CEO and co-founder of Harmonix, in a statement.

Harmonix did not say how many songs from the band's eight studio albums would appear in the game. However, the developer did say all tracks from Green Day: Rock Band can be exported into either the original Rock Band or Rock Band 2, a feature absent from their last standalone project with The Beatles.
