Super skinny Nadine Coyle is All Tangled Up as she struggles to stay in her heels

Her curvy figure has made her one of the more popular members of Girls Aloud.

But it seems that since moving to Los Angeles, Nadine Coyle has swapped it for something skinnier.

The 24-year-old, who is taking a break from the group to work on her solo album, appears to have fallen victim to LA's most prevalent curse - the size zero.


She looked shockingly thin yesterday as she arrived at a recording studio in North London.

Her tiny frame was swamped by her white blazer and loose top, while her black mini skirt did little to hide her painfully thin legs.


Last night, sources close to the singer insisted she was in 'great health' and was simply busy working hard on new material.

However, as these pictures show, her weight seems to have fallen dramatically in the past year from a UK size 8 to what appears to be a U.S. size zero, or UK size 4.

Miss Coyle has in the past insisted that she hates being too thin. In an interview last year, she said: 'I'd hate to be a size zero. I like to look like a woman, with things up front and at the back.


'My weight fluctuates by half a stone. I'm a (British) size 6-8. I don't like being too skinny. But I've always been really thin and I've been doing exercises that build up my muscle.'

Last year, she reportedly shocked diners at upmarket restaurant The Ivy by producing a pair of scales from her bag to weigh out her food.

After measuring out a portion of plain fish with no vegetables, she sent half the dish back to the kitchen unfinished. A spokesman for Miss Coyle declined to comment.

Her manager Bruce Garfield insisted Coyle is in 'fabulous shape' and has been doing a lot of running near her Los Angeles home.

He said: 'She's probably in the best shape she's ever been in spiritually, mentally, physically. She's never been better.'


Her gaunt appearance in recent weeks will no doubt prompt fears her diet and fitness plan is too drastic for the naturally slim star.

The Northern Irish singer is rumoured to be stressed about her new debut solo album, wondering if she will match the success of bandmate Cheryl Cole, who has had a No.1 album and single in the UK.

In the Girls Aloud autobiography All That Glitters two years ago, Coyle admitted she used to hate her legs when she was first chosen for the group on Popstars: The Rivals seven years ago.

She said: 'I always had major issue with my legs. They’re just too skinny and I’ve never liked them.

'I’d look at them sometimes and want to throw up. They’re like tooth picks.

'I don’t have the same hang-ups about them now. But I still don’t think they’re great.'

Meanwhile, Coyle recently denied reports it was her fault the Girls Aloud hiatus was continuing longer than planned.

Bandmate Kimberley Walsh said last month the group was waiting for Coyle to return from LA so they could discuss the group's future.

She said: 'he plan is ... well, basically Nadine needs to come over from LA. We need to chat and book it in because there are five people's diaries to work around, rather than just one.'

In response, Coyle wrote on her Twitter page: 'Laughing at people suggesting I'm holding up GA. Really?? Let's be realistic. Open your eyes. It's made out like I have all the power. [WAOW!]'

After spending most of last week in the front row at London Fashion Week shows, Nicola Roberts has her eyes on all the latest trends.

And one style that has caught her eye appears to be over-the-knee boots.



Spotted out in London, the Girls Aloud singer gave her romantic dresses an edgy look with a pair of sexy over-the-knee brown boots.

The 24-year-old redhead teamed a floral tea dress with the boots and a leather jacket at she left the Dorchester Hotel with boyfriend Charlie Fennell.

Roberts was seen out with her boyfriend after enjoying a girls night out at the Lady GaGa concert at the O2 Arena.



She joined bandmates Cheryl Cole and Kimberly Walsh in a VIP box at the concert extravaganza.

Most of last week, Roberts was seen indulging her passion for fashion at the many shows in the capital.

The Cheshire-born star credits the fashion world with helping her accept her red hair and pale skin.

She said last year: 'I'm just a girl who loves fashion. I'm finding my way, finding my style and whatever anyone thinks I'm enjoying myself.

'Everything I wear now, I wear because I absolutely love it. I think I look good in it. I feel confident and I'm having fun.'



Roberts has cited quirky individuals in the fashion industry with making her realise it's good to stand out from the crowd.

She recalled: 'I remember looking around at my first fashion party a year ago and thinking, "Oh my God. This is all about odd people. This is where I fit in."

'The fact I have white skin and red hair is my thing. It's my different thing and in the fashion world, that's OK.'

Meanwhile, Roberts cancelled her appearance at the NME Awards to support her bandmate Cole in the wake of her marriage split from Ashley Cole.

A tired-looking Roberts was spotted driving away from the Coles' marital home at 1am in the morning after spending a few hours there comforting her close friends.

Roberts and Cole are especially close and originally shared a north London flat together in the early days of Girls Aloud.

The pair are said to be planning a Caribbean getaway with bandmate Kimberly Walsh.



The trio famously escaped to Thailand and then Los Angeles together after Ashley was first linked to hairdresser Aimee Walton in 2008.

'Everyone keeps talking about my weight, which I find so ridiculous,' says the fashionista, who was pictured at several London Fashion Week shows last week.

She told Closer magazine: 'I’m a size 6 and I’m not ashamed of that – I have a naturally small frame and it’s the way I’ve always been. I’ve not been starving myself or exercising every day.

It’s irresponsible for people to obsess over it because I don’t want girls to feel they have to be the same shape.'

Nicola, 24, insists that her pet pugs Ronnie and Reggie are all she needs to keep her in shape.



'I’ve never been a gym bunny,' she laughs. 'Walking the dogs is my only exercise – that’s enough for me.' (Bollocks.)

Nicola’s bandmate Cheryl Cole, 26, announced her separation from footballer husband Ashley.

She says that the rest of the group – including Sarah Harding, 28, Nadine Coyle, 24, and Kimberley Walsh, 28 – are supporting her. 'We’re always there for each other. All the girls are regularly in touch and we text most days.

'We haven’t finished Girls Aloud’s year-long break yet, but when we do, it’ll be fun all getting back together in the studio. It’ll feel like no time’s passed at all.' (Sweetie, ditch them. Where's your solo album?)

But while Cheryl’s going through heartbreak, Nicola admits that she’s 'completely in love' with her boyfriend of two years, Charlie Fennell, 23, who sells boats.

'It’s all going really well,' smiles Nicola. 'I felt really broody (wut?) but now I’ve seen what a handful my dogs are, children are off the cards for a while. I’m definitely not ready!'

And Nicola – who created the Dainty Doll make-up range for paler skins – says she’s not ready for a full-time career in fashion either.



She says: 'There’s talk that I’m reinventing myself as a fashion designer but I’m too busy with my make-up to do anything else at the moment!'

Nadine is now permanently based in Los Angeles, where the pressures to remain in shape are notorious.

But from the look of things she may have taken it too far.

Her dieting made headlines in May last year when she shocked diners at upmarket London restaurant The Ivy by producing a pair of scales from her bag.

She then proceeded to weigh her meal of plain fish with no vegetables, before sending half back to the kitchen.

Since Girls Aloud decided to take a break Nadine has been busy working on launching her solo singing career. Her first album is said to be nearly complete.

She also owns a bar in California, Nadine's Irish Mist, run by her parents.

But her bandmate Kimberley Walsh has said that Nadine's ambitions may be interfering with the band's planned comeback.

She told the Metro: 'I miss the girls. The plan is... well, basically Nadine needs to come over from LA.

'We need to chat and book it in because there are five people's diaries to work around, rather than just one.'

Nadine denied she was stopping the band getting back together.

But a source told Heat magazine: 'The other four are in regular contact and see each other when they're not working. Nadine holds them back.

'She's so far removed from the band it's like she's left already. Nadine's jealous. Once upon a time, Nadine was the 'lead singer', the one the tabloids wrote about. Now everyone's forgotten about her.'

After the band took a break last year, they signed a new deal which ties them to a further three albums.

But in the meantime they have all been pursing their own projects.

Cheryl Cole, 26, has had the most success after launching her solo career on the X Factor last year, bagging a No.1 single, Fight For This Love, followed by a chart-topping album, 3 Words.

Sarah Harding, 28, who has just returned from a Barbados break with DJ boyfriend Tom Crane, went down the actress route and filmed St Trinian's 2 last year.

Nicola Roberts, 24, has launched her own make-up range, and also made a BBC documentary this year, The Truth About Tanning.

And Kimberley, 28, has been working as a TV presenter, including hosting the red carpet for the Baftas.

She's starting to look thinner than Cheryl. DNW. :-(

There have been a lot of rumors floating around about Nadine Coyle and her group Girls Aloud. The most recent rumbling are that she and fellow bandmate, Cheryl Cole are at each other's throats over their solo careers.

Thank goodness there is Twitter to clear it all up.

Nadine took to hers to explain that there is nothing but love between her and her girl, Cheryl. She tweeted:

"I'm hearing stupid talk about Cheryl and I having a fall out. Def NOT the case. I've written a song I'd love for us to duet on. Stay tuned"

Ready to make her first public appearance since splitting from husband Ashley Cole, a sad-looking Cheryl Cole was spotted departing Heathrow Airport on Thursday (March 4).

Clad in a grey t-shirt, tight black pants and sunglasses, the “X-Factor” hottie was quickly escorted through the crowded terminal - refusing to answer any questions before jetting off to Copenhagen for the Danish version of “X-Factor” tomorrow night.

Meanwhile, insiders tell that Miss Cole is beginning to take blame for the end of her marriage to Mr Cole.

A source told the Daily Mail, “Cheryl has agreed to see a counselor with Ashley to hear his issues. She think he deserves to be heard and understands how he could think that she let him down as a wife.”

The insider adds, “In essence, she is starting to accept his claim that it is not solely his fault their marriage collapsed.”

JLS Duo Sex Bomb tipped for Cheryl Cole romance

A man has been exicted from his Nottinghamshire flat for playing Cheryl Cole songs too loud.

22-year-old Martin Bramwell was ordered to leave his Ladybrook Lane property after Mansfield County Court heard how he played the music of the Girls Aloud singer so loud throughout the night a neighbour sought refuge in a friend's house.

Bramwell had an injunction imposed on him last October with regard to the music, but he continued to play it regardless. The council installed noise monitoring machines to record the nuisance and played them in court before he was ordered to leave by March 4.

He played the music until 4am and slammed doors, the court heard.

Councillor Danny McCrossan said: "No-one should have to face this type of anti-social behaviour."

Sarah Harding's Barbados break has turned into something of a fashion parade, and her latest beach outing proved no exception.

The Girls Aloud star stepped out to the sand in a pair of tiny denim hotpants and a bright peach bikini top.



She teamed the look with white sunglasses and sandals, as well as a headscarf to keep her blonde mane in place.

It's the latest in a string of eye-catching outfits she's worn on the Caribbean getaway, including a range of two piece bikinis and cut-away swimsuits.



Sarah, 28, is holidaying with DJ boyfriend Tom Crane and a group of friends.

There are renewed rumours the couple are planning to wed.

'Tom wants to pop the question to Sarah,' a source told the News of the World. 'It's only a matter of time before they get engaged. Expect a big announcement very soon.'



The pair began dating in June 2007 following her split from showbiz journalist Joe Mott.

The announced the relationship was over in June 2008 citing the pressures of work, but reignited their romance just a week later.

Girl no.5: Ashley Cole took out Cheryl then bedded me



Sleazy Ashley Cole took a glamour model home for sex – on the night he first went public about his ­relationship with Cheryl.

Just minutes after waving goodbye to Cheryl on their first official night out together, he sidled up to Alexandra Taylor in the bar of a London nightclub.

And she became the FIFTH woman with whom Cole cheated on Cheryl.

The shameless footballer brought Alexandra home for sex – in his bachelor flat in the same apartment complex where Cheryl was living.

Hours earlier, he and Cheryl had danced cheek to cheek, apparently smitten with each other on the night their relationship became public.

But Cheryl had to leave early because she had commitments the next day with Girls Aloud. Cole, however, stayed on – and hit on Alexandra, 27, whom he’d been ogling earlier.

Alexandra told the Sunday Mirror: “I was at the bar. Ashley just butted in and started chatting to me. It was clear he fancied me and he seemed quite drunk.

“We went and sat down alone at his table. But I didn’t know anything about him and Cheryl – he certainly never mentioned her while we were talking. And later that night we went back to his place for sex.”

It was the evening of the National Television Awards in October 2004 after which Cheryl and the rest of Girls Aloud hit the Funky Buddha club.

Cole, then with Arsenal, had arranged to meet Cheryl at the club and she made a beeline for him the moment she arrived.

Two days later, the story broke that Cheryl and Cole were dating and were “very keen” on each other. Eight months later they announced their engagement.

But, what can only be revealed now is what seedy Cole did after Cheryl left the club.

“He was there with a group of friends, including a couple of Premier League players,” Alexandra said.

“They were in the VIP area and I noticed Ashley kept looking over at me. His mates invited me and my friend over to the table and Ashley kept catching my eye. I didn’t know who he was… I just thought he was a good-looking bloke.”

When Cole’s group decided to leave, one of his friends invited Alexandra, then 22, and her pal to a “party” at his home with other friends.

The player’s mates made sure Cole and Alexandra left separately and ushered her and her friend past photographers into a waiting car.

Once back at his flat in north London, Cole wasted no time.

Alexandra said: “He was really hands on and flirty when we got back there. We were both attracted to each other – it was really intense.

“After about 15 minutes he said, ‘I’m going upstairs to lie down,’ and as he went he gave me the eye to follow him.”

And leaving the rest of the group downstairs, she followed him to his bedroom “When I got up there Ashley was already undressed and under the covers, just wearing his boxers. “We were both really drunk, started kissing — and one thing led to another. He was so off his face with drink, he could barely do the deed. It lasted about 15minutes and was really lousy.

“I tried to get some conversation out of him afterwards but he just wanted to roll over and go to sleep. It was like he had got what he wanted and that was all he cared about.”

Alexandra and her friend left in a taxi in the early hours of the morning, unaware that Cheryl lived with bandmate Nicola Roberts in the same development.

She said: “I don’t know if she was asleep in her flat while I was having sex with her boyfriend, but he must have been crazy to bring another girl back there. It just shows you how arrogant Ashley is.”

The next day she got a call from one of Ashley’s close pals.

She said: “He kept saying ‘I beg you not to tell anyone about you and Ashley.’ He was being quite nasty and aggressive.

“It made me think Ashley was a bit of a wimp for not calling me himself, but he was always getting his friends to do his dirty work.”

Over the next two months Alexandra and Cole met regularly in clubs popular with models and Premiership footballers, keeping in touch through one of the defender’s pals. Although the pair flirted and kissed on subsequent nights out, they never had sex again. Alexandra said: “The problem with Ashley was that he couldn’t handle his drink - so every time he got tipsy he was over to me, flirting, touching my bum.

“I knew he and Cheryl were a hot couple. But he never talked about her and I thought, ‘They’ve not been together long and if he’s behaving like this, he can’t be that serious.’

“I’m not proud of it, but at the time I thought something could happen between us. When I look back I realise how arrogant Ashley was. He would stand posing in the bar, expecting a waiter to come running and getting his mates to do his bidding.

“He used to screw up his face like a spoilt child when he didn’t get his way. I kept my mouth shut because I was worried about my modelling career, which was going really well.

“But now I wish I had gone public – or at least tried to let Cheryl know what her man was like.”

Alexandra added: “I was shocked when they got engaged. He was cheating on Cheryl with me from day one but I wondered if she had managed to convince him to settle down. But it’s obvious he never changed.”

Alexandra has since moved back to her home town Blackpool, where she lives with her partner and baby daughter and works as a nursery nurse and beauty therapist.

She said: “I realise now how stupid we models were. The footballers treated us like meat, but we all wanted the WAG lifestyle so we let them do exactly what they wanted.

“I didn’t get Ashley, but I couldn’t be happier with my life now. Cheryl got him and he’s brought her nothing but hurt and misery.”

In tears, the Chelsea and England star pleaded: "I can't lose my wife over this. If I lose my wife, I don't want to live."

Speaking for the first time about the scandal, Ann, a 28-year-old local government worker, last night told the News of the World she only discovered Cole was married after they slept together.

She revealed: "When he rang me and cried I asked him, 'What's wrong with you? Why do you cheat? Why did you have sex with me behind your wife's back?'

"But he just replied that he didn't know. He admitted he'd cheated on her before and been exposed in the press. He was most vehement that I was the first person he'd cheated with. . . since the last time he got caught! I think he's got a problem."

Heartbroken pop star and X Factor judge Cheryl will be devastated by details of her philandering hubby's latest betrayal. In a sensational interview, Ann detailed how Cole:

• TEXTED her an explicit photo of himself in white pants - a sleazy tactic he's used before.
• SNEAKED her into the official Chelsea tour hotel on the TEAM BUS.
• CAJOLED her into unprotected sex.
• HASSLED in vain for a SECOND night of passion.

Cole seduced Ann while he was on a pre-season US tour with Chelsea last July. "All in all, the sex lasted three or four hours," she told us. "I was very taken aback by how intimate he was and how needy he was.

"It was like having sex with a boyfriend, someone who loves you. Ashley took my clothes off and was incredibly attentive.

"He was a creative and adventurous lover. At the end he was satisfied and so was I. He was aiming to please, not just out to satisfy himself.

"When we went to sleep, he wanted to snuggle up close. I don't like sleeping like that and he made me too hot.

"But even when I moved to the other side of the bed Ashley still wanted to hold hands and have that contact. And that was sweet."

Ann had been introduced to Cole on Friday July 17 by a friend whose partner is a former British football official and already knew Cole. They all met up at Seattle's Four Seasons Hotel ahead of Chelsea's Saturday game against the Seattle Sounders.

Almost from the start Ashley was captivated by Ann. But she was far from impressed. Ann, who works for local politician Tom Rasmussen, recalled: "Ashley was small and slight like a little bird, but he was very polite and seemed fun.

"The whole time we were talking he was slumped down in his seat, wearing jogging pants and looking totally out of place in the grand surroundings of the hotel. I really didn't pay him much attention.

"When he started a conversation about being famous and claiming he was 'hounded by the press' I remember thinking, 'You're no Brad Pitt!'

"I told him straight, 'Oh, come on! If you're going to be famous, you've got to court the press!' And with that we started sparring back and forth.

"But instead of being annoyed with me, Ashley was impressed. He even whispered under his breath to our mutual friend, 'Hmm, she's witty!' So there was a spark from the start and I started noticing how much attention he was paying to me.

"When I mentioned that I was throwing a baby shower for my friend and couldn't come to watch him play next day, he wouldn't accept that. He kept telling me, 'You've GOT to come! You've GOT to!' "

On the way home with her friends Ann discovered just HOW keen Ashley was on her. "The guy in our group was texting back and forth to someone and giggling like a girl," she said.

"When I asked who he was messaging, he replied, 'Ash.'
Then he showed me a photo Ashley had sent him to show me. It was a picture he'd taken of himself wearing a disgusting pair of tiny whities - briefs.

"He looked really skinny and was smoking a cigarette. I thought it was really gross. Just nasty."

Ann had no idea this was a trademark part of Cole's technique in pulling women behind Cheryl's back. It worked a treat on soccer club secretary Vicki Gough, who was last week revealed as yet another conquest.

Ann added: "My friend told me, 'Ashley wants you to send a picture back.' So I made an ugly face and stuck fingers up either side of my head like devil horns - not a flirtatious picture at all.

"When Ashley texted back asking us to come back to the hotel my friend immediately sensed something wasn't quite right and said, 'Hell, no!' I was happy to go home." Next day Chelsea beat the local side 2-0 and in the evening Cole was out with the other players. Ann met them at the Amber lounge bar and Cole made a beeline for her.

She said: "As soon as he saw me, he called out, 'There she is, the little devil!' referring to my picture, and rushed over excitedly.

"From that moment he attached himself to my side like a little puppy. Wherever I went, he followed. It never crossed my mind he might be married. I didn't think that someone would be so full-on and publicly affectionate with me if he was attached. Ashley was openly cuddling and kissing me.

"When he told me, 'I fancy you, you're really beautiful' I just laughed it off and joked, 'Neat!' "

The party eventually moved to The War Room club where Ashley and Ann continued to get close. She said: "Ashley wanted me to sit next to him, hold hands and sit on his lap.

"At one point someone spilled beer on the floor and it splashed up with all the dirt on to my leg. Ashley immediately grabbed it and licked the mess off. That really grossed me out."

Shortly before midnight, the party was abruptly cut short by the Chelsea curfew, which meant all players had to be back in their hotel rooms by 12. But Ashley was determined to take Ann with him.

She told us: "I was starting to have fun when the team driver came in the club and told the players to pay their tabs so they could head back.

"Ashley immediately started begging me to return to the hotel with him. He said despite the curfew he was still allowed guests in his room.

"At first I told him, 'Just because YOU have to go don't ruin MY fun. Maybe I'll come later.'

"But he begged so much I eventually agreed to go with him, along with our friends. But when we got outside, there was no room in the Chelsea van because some really trashy-looking blondes had already climbed inside. I'd no idea where they appeared from.

"I said something snotty and joked they were taking our seats and, quick as a flash, Ashley kicked them out!

"Back in his suite he immediately lit up a cigarette and started chain-smoking. I was shocked that he was a sports star and smoking so heavily. There was an ashtray full of butts and the room was really messy and smoky.

"At first two other players and my friends were in the room too, but they very quickly left. So by about 1am Ashley and I were alone, just lying on the top of the bedcovers and chatting.

"Ashley was begging me to stay and, as I was having a good time, I thought I might as well. He kept telling me, 'Just stay and sleep.' So that was the pretence that I stayed under. I'd just sleep and leave in the morning. But almost immediately after that we started fooling around.

"When I raised the issue of a condom Ashley acted like he was really shocked. He told me he couldn't believe I'd asked. He said having a condom would suggest he was banking on sex.

"So we carried on like that for a bit, him trying it on and me stopping him. But, in the end, we did have unprotected sex. It's the only thing about the evening that I'm ashamed about.

"Next morning I was up first and immediately felt awkward. But Ashley was just the same as the previous night and wanted to fool around. So we had sex again.

"He had a full itinerary but said, 'Why don't you stay here all day. You can have a bath, order room service and wait for me.'

"Twice he asked if he could see me again that night. I told him I had to go home during the day so he asked for my phone number and stressed, 'You are coming back, right?'

"At one point he asked if I wanted him to get someone from Chelsea to take me out of the hotel the back way, in case I was seen. I thought that was terrible." But Ann got a bigger shock when she arrived home and checked out her new lover on the internet.

She recalled: "I discovered he was married - and had cheated before," she said.

"I couldn't believe it. I was so stunned I was hyperventilating."

In fact Ann is the FOURTH girl caught up in the Cole scandals.

He was exposed in 2008 for bedding hairdresser Aimee Walton. Last week it was revealed X-rated pictures of him were sent from his mobile to model Sonia Wild. Then the white pants seduction that led to him bedding secretary Vicki came to light.

"After finding out the truth I'd no intention of meeting up with Ashley again," said Ann.

Next day, instead of confronting the sports star over his deceit, confused Ann sent a text asking HIM to keep their one-night stand quiet.

"It all now seemed a huge mistake and I just wanted to forget about it," she said.

"I messaged something like, 'Great to meet you but can we keep a lid on this please?' Ashley called straight back. He said he was at the airport. He was laughing and said, 'Wow, no girl has ever said that to me before!'"

Cole then followed up with a text saying: "Your so cute, thank you for a lovely time. x. I will not say a word. x."



But by Wednesday July 22 Cole was the one in a panic, when rumours of the fling surfaced. He repeatedly called Ann.

"Ashley started ringing me all hours," she said. "It got really annoying. He'd get distraught and start mumbling and crying how he didn't want to lose his wife.

"Half hour on he'd call again. And then again 15 minutes later.

"That went on the whole time he was in the US.

"After Chelsea went home I never heard directly from him again.

"But the mess he's in is all his own fault. He's behaved like a jerk."
